Stable Troopal Craigslist Auto Poster Ready for Download

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

The new posting software is finally ready and has been thoroughly tested with success.

Troopal final pricing is in place – the payment structure is going to be a little different than originally planned. Public forum access is free of charge. Access to the member forum simply requires that you be paying for a Troopal product. The first product, EAPD, has a purchase price plus a monthly maintenance fee. This fee includes updates, patches, enhancements, and access to a support community. We are offering an introductory price ($200 discount) on the software for a limited time. The price goes up incrementally, so act now! Please see below for pricing.

Troopal and FTB, now collectively referred to as Troopal, have put a lot of work into a product that works the way it should. Previous plugins and add-on products are back in working order. We have also put a long term plan into place that will get you the updates you need in a timely manner. The work we did to get this up and running coupled with the ongoing work we will do for you costs both time and money. We have tried very hard to make it affordable for you to purchase the software, especially if you act quickly.

We have tested this software with a private testing group (Postsalot, Deatos2k, joshua, notforthebirds). We’re releasing it today, for further testing, exclusively to Troopal Professional Members with a link to the download and registration in the Professional Members forum at www.troopal.com/forums.

It is working: no bugs, proxies rotate, accounts rotate and email addresses are anonymous. Everything that is wrong with your current poster is fixed in this one, except 64 bit Vista (still working on this bug). This program is EAPD with the missing fields fixed. So that means the stability will be the same as it was when you were using EAPD. It also works with all third party plugins and applications. IP Green, etc.

So let’s get back to posting…..the pricing structures are below as well as a complete explanation of what you get at each level:

Search Multiple Craigslist Cities at Once

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

If you’re reading this post, you’re likely a big user of Craigslist.  Once you become a Craigslist power user, you quickly become tired of posting manually each time.  So, you can hire someone to do it for you (that’s what we did).  Once you get too many posts for that person to do that manually, you probably Googled “Craigslist software” or something like that…and here you are!

Well, with Craigslist, if you’re looking for a specific type of software developer, for example, you have to enter your search into each city, over and over again.  It’s actually more effective to use Google.  However, Google doesn’t index Craigslist in real time.  So, you have to search Google’s “old” Craigslist content.  Frustrating, for sure!

So, auto posting software providers like Troopal can help you post automatically, but we’re not helping you search like a power user.  There’s a site that does, though!  You’ve got to check out crazedlist.org.

crazedlist

We’re big fans of it now.  It rolls up all of Craigslist into one general area which allows you to search for things all over the world in one search form.

How to Sell Your Spouse On Craigslist

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that a woman is selling her spouse on Craigslist.  Let’s analyze this post, you can see the full Craigslist post here.

Hey ladies I have one white male 5′10” 170 lbs. short black hair and brown eyes…lots of tattoo’s and both ears pierced…age 34 will be 35 in July. He likes country and hard rock music. Grateful Dead is his favorite. He does come with baggage as he has 4 children…two 16 year old girls a 6 year old boy and a 4 years old girl…

This is a valiant attempt and the woman is obviously emotional.  So, we’ll cut her some slack.  However, even under stressful conditions the marketing side of me wants to write this ad with some compelling copy.  The best place to start with compelling copy is in the title.

Current Title: Free Husband (Central Florida)

Improved Title: >>> Good-For-Nothing Lout of a Husband – FREE! <<<  ({Location})

The arrows bring attention to the ad title and increase the click through rate, getting more people to read the ad.  Also, the descriptive language in the title entices people to find out why the husband is described in such glowing terms.  The more unbelievable, the more clicks…  Ie, Superhumanly BAD Husband would likely have an even better click through rate.

The {Location} token when used with Troopal’s Craigslist auto poster will replace the token variable with the city or country you are posting the ad in.  This allows you to make each ad local and relevant.  Imagine how many husbands this woman could have sold if she had used a little preparation with a Craigslist auto posting tool.

lazy_husband

The next area that needs help would be the body of the ad, itself.  She should have included a picture (like the one here) and should have used some quick bullet points for the Attention Deficit Disorder effect.  In case you’re not aware, when writing ad copy you have to plan for the lowest possible attention span.  If you can’t get your point across in 5 seconds to generate motivation to continue reading the ad, the reader will click the back button and move on.

In any case, the ad was flagged and removed from Craigslist. Looks like her husband is a Craigslister as well! If she had used Troopal’s auto poster she would have been able to immediately repost it. Automated spousal-humiliation for the win!

Craigslist for iPhone

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

iPhone + Craigslist = Quicky Ads.  In more than one way…

You heard it right!   Just walk into the garage, take a picture of that old weight set and upload the pic and an iphone auto complete post is up on Craigslist.  Your rusty, weight bench is as good as sold.

The ingenuity of the iPhone never ceases to amuse me.  It’s like having a little computer at the tips of your fingers.  Once you get over the annoying typing and learn how to deal with the autocomplete demons that give the thing it’s evil powers, you’re a minor tech god with this silicon and plastic boom stick.  Now that it can post to Craigslist, it’s the bomb, in my knowledgable and not-so-influential opinion.  Now if there was just some way we could get this app to auto post a few unique ads…

 Nice Features:
craigslist_iphone - Clean Craigslist style format of most of the Craigslist pages
 - Post post while you’re on the move…
 - Locate CL listings (and people!) nearby with the iphone GPS turned on
 - Clickable phone numbers

Unwanted spouse?  No problem!  You’ve got Craigsphone and you know how to use it!

  1. Snap his picture and upload it to Craigslist
  2. Write a snappy, “sell to best first offer” ad
  3. Cook for one tonight. Easy as 1-2-3!

As I scroll through the various pages and menus, there are many things that I’d change about the app.  For one, there is lots of scrolling involved to setup the app with your location, and other peronalized settings.  However, it’s very handy if you’re as obsessed with Craigslist as I am.  If you’re auto posting from home, you can also use this to check up on yours ads to make sure they are not being ghosted, while you’re out for a cup of coffee, church, getting married, etc.

You can download it directly to your iPhone from the Apple App Store or here.
